Equipment

  • 9x13-inch Baking Dish

Ingredients

SPICE RUB

  • 1 Tablespoon Kosher Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Cumin
  • 2 teaspoons Chili Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Smoked Paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Sweet Paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Onion Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • ½ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

RIBS

  • 3-4 lbs Boneless Country Style Ribs
  • ¼ cup Water
  • 2 cups Barbecue Sauce (I like a smoky flavored bbq sauce) divided

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 300° F.
  • Mix together the ingredients for the spice rub. Set aside.
  • In a 9"x13" baking dish, add the ribs in a single layer.
  • Sprinkle both sides of the ribs with the spice rub.
  • Pour in the water.
  • Cover the dish with foil. Bake the ribs for 2 hours.
  • Check to make sure they are very tender and at least 180°F. If not, bake another 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil. Drain the liquid from the baking dish and discard.
  • Brush on 1 cup of the barbecue sauce generously.
  • Place the ribs back in the oven, uncovered, and bake another 30 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and brush on the remaining barbecue sauce.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • If using bone-in pork ribs, the cook time may be longer, depending on the size of them.
  • Use your favorite barbecue sauce, or make homemade.
