Chile con Carne is a delicious chili with meat. This is a simple chili recipe that has all of the classic flavor. A quick and easy stove top chili recipe.

Instructions
Heat a Dutch oven or saucepan over medium heat. Add the olive oil, then the onion and bay leaf. Sauté, stirring occasionally, until the onion turns translucent.
Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, stirring frequently.
Add the ground beef or turkey and cook, breaking up the meat as you stir occasionally. Cook until mostly done.
Add the chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Stir well.
Add the can of undrained diced tomatoes, then stir in the tomato paste until well incorporated.
Add the diced green chiles.
Stir in the beef broth.
Add the kidney beans.
Add the salt and pepper. Stir well.
Bring to a low simmer. Then cover and reduce the heat to low and cook for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.
Taste and adjust seasoning, if desired.
Serve with any toppings you like*.

*Some topping ideas are shredded cheddar cheese, cilantro, finely chopped onion, avocado, corn chips, sour cream, green onion.
