Slow Cooker Apple Cinnamon Pork Chops are a delicious savory sweet meal. The savory flavor of pork pairs perfectly with the sweet, slightly tart taste of apples. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon and it turns into a cozy, comforting dish that smells just like fall. This easy crockpot pork chops recipe is a breeze to make, and very tasty! A family favorite slow cooker pork chop dinner.

Pork and fruit go very well together. Apples go particularly well with pork chops. That sweet & savory combination is wonderful.

What Type of Pork Chops Work Best?

  • For this recipe, I recommend using bone-in pork chops because they tend to stay juicier and have a bit more flavor. I like to buy a mixed package of bone-in loin and rib chops.
  • You can also use boneless pork chops. Just keep an eye on the cook time so they don’t get overdone.
  • Thickness: I usually go for chops that are about ¾" to 1" thick for best results in the slow cooker.

Do the Chops Need to be Browned First?

No they don't. They come out delicious just by adding them in as is.
However, if you do want to brown them, try to do a quick sear so they don't get too done before slow cooking them.

This recipe is really easy to make, because there is no pre-cooking involved. Just layer in the ingredients and cook!

Favorite Apples to Use?

• I prefer to use a mix of apples. Some Granny Smith, and some Fuji. That way it's not too tart.
• You can use what you like, and peel them or not, it's up to you.

How to Make Slow Cooker Apple Cinnamon Pork Chops

Pork Chops layered in crock
Layering is the key to the juiciest and most delicious pork chops.
First, layer some of the apples and onion in the bottom of the crock. Add a little butter, some honey, and cinnamon.

Next, layer the pork chops on top of the apples. Be sure to sprinkle some salt on both sides of the chops.

Last, layer the remaining apples, onion, honey, and cinnamon on top of the pork chops.

What to Serve With Apple Cinnamon Pork Chops

This dish goes great with a variety of sides. Here are a few of my favorites:
• Mashed Potatoes – perfect for soaking up all that delicious sauce.
• Steamed Green Beans or Roasted Carrots – something fresh to balance the sweetness.
• Stuffing – for a cozy, holiday-style meal.
• A Crisp Green Salad – if you’re looking for something lighter for your side dish.
• Homemade Dinner Rolls Yummy, soft bread rolls to soak up the flavorful broth.

Storage Tips

• Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 4 days and reheat well in the microwave or on the stovetop over low heat.
• This pork chop recipe also freezes pretty well—just cool completely, transfer to a freezer-safe container, and freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.

I am making this on Wednesday and want to make sure I buy the right pork chops. Am I using the thin pork chops or the thick ones. Looking forward to making this. Thanks for the recipe. 🙂

Thicker are better for slow cooking. About 1-inch thick or so.

I have made this 5 times now for two people. Love this recipe I added more on the seasoning and each layer 2 shakes of cayenne pepper and baby carrots . Serve with broccoli or green beans ( eating more veggies). My husband really likes this one.

I poured the juice off into a saucepan heated to boil and thickened with a bit of cornstarch & water. Made a great sauce over rice and veggies.

Instead of the granny Smith apples, can I substitute with a jar of spiced apple rings?

I have tried this a few times-it's delicious! I tried with cinnamon but thought it was too sweet with the apples and brown sugar. I have added honey and I rub mustard on the chops with kosher salt and a bit of granulated garlic. The mustard adds some zing once all the juices begin to mingle. Great recipe!

Can I prepare this the night before in the croc pot? Or will the apples browning mess it up? TIA!

I haven't tried it, but an apple browning won't be an issue once it's cooked. Be sure to keep the pork at a safe temperature.
